After coming out of retirement to lend his expertise to EXCEL once more, Barry Bergeron is officially hanging up his hard hat again. We couldn’t be more grateful for the remarkable impact he’s made.
Barry has been a cornerstone of this industry since 1979, bringing over four decades of experience, leadership, and mentorship to the team. As Project Manager for Maintenance, he has been a steady force behind the scenes, sharing invaluable plant knowledge and leading with a calm, safety-first approach. Whether navigating complex equipment removals or guiding the next generation, Barry has done it all with quiet confidence and integrity.
Words of Appreciation
Jesse Fillingame, Barry's successor, reflects on his mentorship:
“Barry made sure he gave me all the knowledge and tools I needed to be successful during our transition together. It’s obvious to see why he’s been such a huge piece of EXCEL’s success. Best wishes for a well-deserved retirement.”
Richard Beemer adds:
"Barry probably has more time in this industry than I do. He’s incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, a true expert in plant processes and equipment. He promotes safety and leads with patience and logic.”
Clay Brown shares his admiration:
"Barry is very honest, cares for his employees, and is a great manager I’ve learned from over the years. He refuses to play from the senior tees, but he can, and he’s a damn good golfer.”
David Vanderford expresses his gratitude:
"Barry, thank you for everything. It’s been a true honor to work with you. You are someone we all should look up to.”
A New Chapter
When he’s not dominating on the golf course, Barry can be found reeling in big catches. A true outdoorsman and fisherman at heart, he is ready to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
Barry, thank you for everything. Your leadership, wisdom, and humility have left an enduring legacy. Enjoy every cast and every round in your retirement. You’ve truly earned it.
