We are pleased to announce that Kirk Johnson has been named President of Construction at EXCEL.
Kirk’s journey with EXCEL reflects the company’s spirit, built on hard work, integrity, and a passion for doing things the right way. He began his career in the field as a helper and worked his way through every level of construction leadership, earning the respect of peers and clients through his focus on safety, quality, and accountability.
Kirk shares, “My vision is to keep strengthening who we are, a company that takes pride in doing things right, supporting our people, and earning our clients’ trust through performance. Success, to me, is measured by the reputation we build and the opportunities we create for our teams and their families. Our legacy will be defined by those we develop—the next generation of builders who perform even better than we did.”
When reflecting on leadership, Kirk often reminds teams, “Quit building projects and start building people. No one will ever see a plant and remember your legacy because you built it, but the people you built will carry that legacy forward.”
Joey Myers, COO, shared, “Kirk has been an integral part of the EXCEL team for many years and has played a key role in strengthening our operations, developing our people, and building trusted relationships with our clients. His leadership, work ethic, and deep understanding of our business have been instrumental to EXCEL’s continued success.”
Outside of work, Kirk’s values of faith and family guide everything he does. Married for 25 years, he finds his greatest joy in spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and in carrying those same values into his leadership at EXCEL.
