Project Scope

The Natgas Facility fire restoration project was a true test of urgency, precision, and resilience. When a rupture in a natural gas feed line caused a fire and was forced into total shutdown. Each day offline meant millions in losses. EXCEL was engaged on October 1, mobilized within six days, and executed a $3.16 million restoration effort that rapidly expanded in both scope and scale.

Project Description

What began as a 15-person crew quickly grew into more than 70 craft professionals per shift, working 12-hour days, seven days a week. Over nearly three months of continuous operations, EXCEL rebuilt the plant’s electrical backbone and restored critical systems, enabling the facility to meet its year-end restart goal and avert further financial impacts.

The environment was among the most hazardous imaginable – charred steel, melted conduit, fiberglass debris, and congested work areas shared by multiple trades. Despite this, EXCEL delivered zero OSHA recordables and only one minor first aid case, thanks to rigorous safety leadership and hazard recognition programs. The project demonstrated EXCEL’s ability to mobilize rapidly, execute under extreme pressure, and deliver results with safety and quality uncompromised.
